{"id":165795,"date":"2026-02-20T03:00:20","date_gmt":"2026-02-20T02:00:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/?p=165795"},"modified":"2026-02-19T14:45:41","modified_gmt":"2026-02-19T13:45:41","slug":"phd-physical-chemistry-france","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/en\/phd-physical-chemistry-france\/","title":{"rendered":"PhD &#8211; Physical Chemistry &#8211; France"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/pexels-photo-8540614.webp\" width=\"597\" height=\"398\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">MS-RADAM (\u201cMultiScale phenomena in RAdiation DAMage\u201d)\u00a0is a European Doctoral Network project funded by the Marie Sk\u0142odowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) programme.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">MS-RADAM aims to advance the understanding of key radiation-induced biodamage phenomena at the nano- and larger scales, with applications in particle therapy, radiotherapy, and radioprotection.\u00a0These include the formation of DNA strand breaks by ionising radiation, DNA repair, radiosensitisation by metal nanoparticles, cell survival and radioresistance.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">MS-RADAM invites applications for\u00a0a 36-month, full-time, fixed-term position as a Doctoral Candidate (DC). The successful candidate will be employed by\u00a0Institut de Chimie Physique, CNRS\u00a0in\u00a0Orsay, France, and\u00a0enrolled in the PhD programme at Universit\u00e9 Paris-Saclay.\u00a0The Institut de Chimie Physique (ICP, Institute for Physical Chemistry) is a research unit which was built upon the integration of several teams of physical and analytical chemists within the Orsay perimeter of the Universit\u00e9 Paris-Saclay.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">The different tasks of the project are:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><span lang=\"EN-US\">Nanoparticles synthesis, functionalization and characterization<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Elaboration of protocols for sensitive quantification of radicals and molecular species produced by radiolysis in the presence of nanoparticles (O2-, 1O2\u2026.)<\/li>\n<li>Quantify chemicals species emitted for different beam types (photons, electrons, ions) and setting (along the Bragg peak)<\/li>\n<li>Quantification of the impact of Cerenkov light<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Candidates must:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">hold a University Master\u2019s Degree in experimental chemistry or physical chemistry, or a related field<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">be available to start on 01.09.2026<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">have excellent English language skills (both spoken and written)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">be able to travel internationally on a regular basis, e.g. to attend regular project meetings, conferences and training activities<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">be able to work in an international environment, be highly motivated and reliable, be able to meet strict deadlines<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Annual Salary: within the range of the EU MSCA Doctoral Network programs.
