The position is for a period of 3 years. The PhD candidate will work on a project lead by Dr. Kristin Roseth Aass, researcher on Centre for Myeloma Research\u00a0in Trondheim.\u00a0The center brings together researchers and clinicians at NTNU and St. Olav\u00b4s University Hospital and do clinical, translational and basic research on the cancer Multiple Myeloma, an incurable blood cancer arising in plasma cells in the bone marrow.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Duties<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The primary task of the PhD candidate will be to analyze immune cells from myeloma patients treated with anti-CD38 monoclonal antibodies. Depending on the candidate\u2019s background, the main focus will either be on bioinformatic analysis of single-cell sequencing data or on laboratory-based work, including cell-culture assays, flow cytometry and mass cytometry. The candidate should, however, be prepared to contribute to all these methods, as well as to other ongoing research projects in the group.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>You must have a relevant Master&#8217;s degree or equivalent. Your course of study must correspond to a five-year Norwegian course, where 120 credits have been obtained at master&#8217;s level. Master students can apply, but the master&#8217;s degree must be obtained and documented before starting the position and no later than\u00a0<strong>01.07.2026.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>You must have a strong academic background\u00a0in a field relevant for the position, which includes biochemistry, cell biology, biotechnology, immunology or medicine, or computational biology\/bioinformatics\/informatics<\/li>\n<li>The average grade from your Master&#8217;s degree study, or equivalent education, should be equal to B or better compared to\u00a0NTNU&#8217;s grading scale. If you do not have letter grades from previous studies, you must have an equally good academic foundation. If you have a weaker grade background, you may be considered if you can document that you are particularly suitable for a PhD education.<\/li>\n<li>You must meet the requirements for admission to the\u00a0Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences\u00b4\u00a0Doctoral Programme<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in oral and written English<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the position of PhD Candidate, code 1017, your gross salary will normally be NOK 550 800,-per annum depending on qualifications and seniority.
