{"id":161870,"date":"2025-09-24T09:50:40","date_gmt":"2025-09-24T07:50:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/?p=161870"},"modified":"2025-09-24T09:58:11","modified_gmt":"2025-09-24T07:58:11","slug":"internships-traineeships-at-the-cor-belgium","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/en\/internships-traineeships-at-the-cor-belgium\/","title":{"rendered":"Internships &#8211; Traineeships at the CoR &#8211; Belgium"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/Comite-Regiones-Europa-opt-e1758700669419.jpg\" width=\"353\" height=\"259\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Each year, the Committee of the Regions (CoR) provides a limited number of Cicero internships offering the opportunity to acquire work experience in a European institution.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Three\u00a0types of internships are available:\u00a0Standard Traineeship,\u00a0Short-term\u00a0study visits and\u00a0Traineeship for Government Officials:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>1.Standard traineeship<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">5-month traineeships for young graduates, running from 16 February until 15 July (Spring traineeships) or from 16 September to 15 February (Autumn traineeships).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Trainees are selected from nationals of the EU Member States. However a limited number of citizens from third countries (including the UK) may be accepted.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Applicants must<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>have obtained a full undergraduate academic degree, or have completed at least the third year of higher education (university or equivalent), by the closing date for applications;<\/li>\n<li>have a thorough knowledge of one official EU language and a satisfactory knowledge of French or English.<\/li>\n<li>Candidates who have already received more than 8 weeks of in-house placement (whether paid or unpaid) in a European institution, body, delegation or representative office or who have had any form of employment in a European institution or body shall not be accepted<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">CoR-trainees are entitled to a monthly grant (approx. 1493 euros\/month).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Application periods:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211;\u00a0<strong>6 January to 31 March<\/strong>,\u00a012.00 CET,\u00a0of the same year (for Autumn traineeships 16 September &#8211; 15 February);<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211;\u00a0<strong>1 July to<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>30 September<\/strong>, 12.00 CEST, of previous year (for spring traineeships 16 February &#8211; 15 July).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Applications are to be made exclusively via the Internet.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>2.Short-term study visits<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For persons whose professional, academic or research activities indicate that they would familiarise with the Committee&#8217;s practical workings and\/or policies.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Applicants must<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>be EU citizens or citizens from a state which is an official candidate for accession;<\/li>\n<li>have completed at least a Bachelor&#8217;s degree;<\/li>\n<li>be able to show that he\/she needs to deepen his\/her knowledge of the Committee of the Regions for reasons related to professional, academic or research activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Beneficiaries receive no grant, nor any other financial support from the CoR. The maximum duration for short-term study visit\u00a0is 4 months, but it may be extended to 6 months.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Deadline:<\/strong>\u00a0There are no fixed deadlines for short term study visits.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Applicants should\u00a0forward their CV and letter of motivation to\u00a0trainee@cor.europa.eu. The letter must state clearly in which department they\u00a0would like to work.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>3.
