{"id":161507,"date":"2025-09-04T03:00:50","date_gmt":"2025-09-04T01:00:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/?p=161507"},"modified":"2025-09-03T13:42:24","modified_gmt":"2025-09-03T11:42:24","slug":"competition-languages-are-your-bridge-to-the-future","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/en\/competition-languages-are-your-bridge-to-the-future\/","title":{"rendered":"Competition: \u2018Languages are your bridge to the future\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/D%C3%ADa-Europeo-Lenguas-2019.png\" width=\"527\" height=\"307\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To celebrate EUROPEAN DAY OF LANGUAGES #EDLangs, the European Commission Representation in Spain and the European Commission&#8217;s Directorate-General for Translation are organising the competition &#8216;Languages are your bridge to the future&#8217; on the European Union and its languages on Instagram.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To participate, you must:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Follow the European Commission Representation in Spain on Instagram<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Like the competition post<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Comment with the correct answer to the question of the day.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tag 2 users in the comment<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Include the hashtag #EDLangs in your comment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Description of the competition<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During September 2025, <u>10 questions<\/u> will be posted on the Representation&#8217;s Instagram profile about EU languages or related topics such as culture, multilingualism, translation, literature and European Union countries.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The day after each question is published, the correct answer will be announced and the winner of the day will be revealed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On the final day of the competition, 26 September, a final winner will be drawn from among all participants, who will receive the grand prize for the competition.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The European Commission&#8217;s representation in Spain will implement an EasyPromos application on Instagram.com\/comisioneuropea to randomly select the winner from among all users who have given a correct answer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Multiple entries per person are accepted, meaning that the same person may participate every day of the contest. Only one correct answer per participant will be counted. Winners will be chosen at random using the EasyPromos application described above. Winners will be announced publicly.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The European Commission&#8217;s representation in Spain will contact the ten winners via their Instagram profile to obtain their contact details.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Competition dates<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Participation will be open from 1:00 p.m. on 2 September 2025 until 1:00 p.m. on 27 September 2025.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Terms and conditions of participation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To participate in the contest and be eligible for prizes, participants must meet the following requirements:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Be over 16 years of age<\/li>\n<li>Residing in Spain<\/li>\n<li>Participate in the contest through a real and active Instagram profile, without anomalies and which cannot be considered to have been created with the sole intention of participating in the contest. Therefore, only profiles with the following characteristics will be valid:\n<ul>\n<li>The user must have a profile photo<\/li>\n<li>The sponsor reserves the right to disqualify contestant profiles. Special attention will be paid to fraudulent activities, and profiles exhibiting apparently abusive or malicious behaviour will be excluded or disqualified.<\/li>\n<li>In the event of any indication of false identity or fraudulent use of the profile, the organiser reserves the right to immediately disqualify the participant, unilaterally and without the need for notification or justification to the participant.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Follow the Instagram profile @comisioneuropea<\/li>\n<li>Like the competition post<\/li>\n<li>Comment with the <u>correct<\/u> answer to the question of the day.<\/li>\n<li>Tag 2 users in the comment<\/li>\n<li>Include the hashtag #EDLangs in your comment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Participation in the competition is free of charge and open to all individuals over the age of 16 who are resident in Spain and who are not employees of the European Commission, family members, representatives, agents or have any other connection with the running of the competition.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Awards<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The prize offered by the European Commission&#8217;s Directorate-General for Translation consists of nine #EDLangs packs containing merchandise from the European Commission&#8217;s Directorate-General for Translation, including: an EDL T-shirt, a notebook, a pen, information material on the languages of the EU, a webcam cover for your computer and an EDL cloth bag.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The GRAND FINAL PRIZE will be an eBook reader.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Further information on conditions, notifications, transfer of image rights and\/or intellectual property rights of the winner, and modifications: <a href=\"https:\/\/spain.representation.ec.europa.eu\/noticias-eventos\/noticias-0\/bases-legales-del-concurso-las-lenguas-son-tu-puente-hacia-el-futuro-instagram-2025-09-02_es?prefLang=en\">European Commission<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>To celebrate EUROPEAN DAY OF LANGUAGES #EDLangs, the European Commission Representation in Spain and the European Commission&#8217;s Directorate-General for Translation are organising the competition &#8216;Languages are your bridge to the future&#8217; on the European Union and its languages on Instagram.
