The summit brought together a record number of global leaders from government, partner organisations, vaccine manufacturers, civil society, and the private sector, to secure crucial investments in vaccination programmes.<\/p>\n<p>Donors pledged<strong>\u00a0more than \u20ac7.7 billion\u00a0<\/strong>towards a target budget\u00a0<strong>of \u20ac10.2 billion<\/strong>\u00a0for the 2026-2030 period. This included a total pledge of more than \u20ac2 billion from Team Europe \u2013 \u00a0the EU and its Member States \u2013 collectively the largest donor to Gavi. Of this amount, the European Commission pledged \u20ac360 million.<\/p>\n<p>Additional commitments were made, including<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u20ac3.8 billion in complementary financing from development finance institutions<\/li>\n<li>up to \u20ac170.6 million in cost savings for Gavi-supported programmes announced by vaccine manufacturers<\/li>\n<li>more than \u20ac127 million in private sector partnerships focused on immunisation delivery<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ecl-u-mb-2xl\">\n<div>\n<div class=\"ecl\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<h2 id=\"gavi-60-goals-2026-2030\" class=\"\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Gavi 6.0 goals (2026-2030)<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Gavi&#8217;s 2026\u20132030 strategy (Gavi 6.0) is the final push to achieve global immunisation and health security targets ahead of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) deadline.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>500 million children vaccinated<\/li>\n<li>More than 8 million lives saved<\/li>\n<li>\u20ac85.3 billion of estimated economic benefits<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"ecl-u-mb-2xl\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div>\n<div class=\"ecl\">\n<h3>During the 2026-2030 period, Gavi aims to<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>expand vaccine programmes and invest in emergency stockpiles to prevent outbreak-prone diseases at source<\/li>\n<li>ensure vaccine access for the world\u2019s poorest countries\u00a0in a possible future health crisis<\/li>\n<li>support local vaccine production through regional partnerships<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div class=\"ecl\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<h2 id=\"the-eu-and-gavi\" class=\"ecl-u-type-heading-2\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The EU and Gavi<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ecl\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The EU has a long-standing partnership with Gavi, contributing over \u20ac3.2 billion since 2003 to advance global immunisation. This includes significant support through the COVAX Advance Market Commitment and the European Investment Bank financial instruments, part of the EU\u2019s Global Coronavirus Response.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Together, the EU and its Member States \u2013 in a\u00a0Team Europe\u00a0approach \u2013 remain Gavi&#8217;s largest contributors, providing over \u20ac6.5 billion during the Gavi 5.0 strategic period (2021\u20132025). In September 2024, the Commission announced a new\u00a0funding pledge of \u20ac260 million, for the years 2026\u20132027. The funds will contribute to Gavi&#8217;s 2030 goal to help protect 500 million children around the world, strengthen immunisation systems, and boost global health security by increasing readiness to respond to disease outbreaks.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The 2025 pledging Summit builds on the successful launch of Gavi&#8217;s 6.0 Investment Opportunity in June 2024 in Paris, co-hosted by France and the African Union, which raised $2.4 billion towards the $9 billion funding target of Gavi.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>More information: <a href=\"https:\/\/commission.europa.eu\/topics\/public-health\/advancing-global-health-gavi-pledging-summit_en?prefLang=es#the-gavi-60-pledging-summit\">European Commission.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The impact of immunisation goes beyond health \u2013 it is about prosperity, security, and economic development.
