<\/p>\nThe winners of the 31st edition of the Salvador de Madariaga European Journalism Prize are announced today. This year’s winners are: Encarna Samitier, from 20 minutos, in the written press category; Marta Garc\u00eda Aller, contributor to Onda Cero, in the radio category; and Llu\u00eds Tovar, from Telecinco, in the television category.<\/p>\n

Jury deliberations<\/strong><\/p>\n In the written press category, the jury decided to award the prize to Encarna Samitier for her commitment to European values and her work to disseminate them, first in the regional press, such as El Heraldo de Arag\u00f3n, and then in a national medium, 20 minutos, always with a firm commitment to making them accessible to all audiences.<\/p>\n In the radio category, Marta Garc\u00eda Aller was awarded for the depth and modernity of her radio analyses, highlighting her avant-garde value and her ability to anticipate new social trends and her active and independent defence of the values that underpin coexistence.<\/p>\n In the television category, the award went to Llu\u00eds Tovar for his rigorous work with sources, his precision and his capacity for synthesis in transmitting complex issues to a general audience. The jury emphasised that Tovar is a benchmark in community news, is didactic and projects the firm commitment of a new generation of correspondents.<\/p>\n Jury members<\/strong><\/p>\n Lhe deliberations of the jury for the 31st edition of the Prize took place at the headquarters of the European Journalists’ Association on 17 March 2025. The jury was chaired by Margaritis Schinas, former Vice-President of the European Commission. Gasc\u00f3n, editor of the Spanish edition of Letras Libres and columnist for El Pa\u00eds; Pilar Velasco, director of Dem\u00f3crata and columnist for Infolibre; Jos\u00e9 Antonio Zarzalejos, president of the editorial board of El Confidencial. Miguel \u00c1ngel Aguilar, secretary general of the Association of European Journalists, Mar\u00eda Andr\u00e9s, director of the European Parliament Office in Spain, and Lucas Gonz\u00e1lez Ojeda, acting director of the European Commission Representation in Spain, acted as non-voting secretaries.<\/p>\n The Salvador de Madariaga European Journalism Award<\/strong><\/p>\n The prize rewards the work of professional journalists whose work helps to form a rigorous and verified public opinion about the European Union.
