The position is funded by University of Bergen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The subject area for the position is synthetic organic chemistry\/medicinal chemistry. The aim of the project is to synthesize compounds with antimicrobial activity that can decompose under light into fragments that do not have antimicrobial activity. The project is a continuation of earlier work based on compounds containing our ethanolamine and oxazolidine chemistry. Method development and chemical analysis will also be a central part of the project to, among other things, map photochemical degradation products.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Applicants must hold:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>A master&#8217;s degree or equivalent education in organic synthesis\/medicinal chemistry. Master students can apply provided they complete their final master exam before 31.07.2025. It is a condition of employment that the master&#8217;s degree has been awarded.<\/li>\n<li>Experience from the use of modern analytical instrumentation, including running and interpretation of NMR-spectra (including two- dimensional NMR-techniques) is a requirement.<\/li>\n<li>Experience from multi step synthesis is an advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Experience from organometallic reactions is an advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Experience from conducting synthesis under dry conditions is an advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Applicants must be able\u00a0to work independently and in a structured manner and demonstrate good collaborative skills.<\/li>\n<li>Applicants must have good written and oral English skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">They can offer:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">a good and professionally stimulating working environment<\/li>\n<li>salary as PhD research fellow in the state salary scale.
