{"id":158325,"date":"2025-03-21T03:00:50","date_gmt":"2025-03-21T02:00:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/?p=158325"},"modified":"2025-04-03T12:31:42","modified_gmt":"2025-04-03T10:31:42","slug":"learning-learn-to-count-europe-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/en\/learning-learn-to-count-europe-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Learning &#8211; \u201cLearn to count Europe\u201d program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>RTVE Instituto<\/strong> and the <strong>School of Journalism of the EFE news agency<\/strong>, in collaboration with the <strong>Spanish Office of the European Parliament<\/strong>, open this March the 5th edition of the <strong>European Union Training Programme for Young Journalists<\/strong>, a successful initiative which has so far benefited more than a hundred participants from all over Spain and from very different professional backgrounds.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <strong>deadline for applications<\/strong> is now open and will run <strong>until Tuesday 22 April<\/strong>. In order to provide those selected with rigorous and detailed information on the workings of the European Commission, the European Council and the European Parliament, this year&#8217;s edition will once again feature a <strong>team of lecturers with close links to current EU affairs<\/strong>: Brussels correspondents from some of the main media, specialists in EU affairs, as well as professionals from the European Parliament and the European Commission, who will share with the students the necessary skills to report on what is happening in the Union in a direct way and in the intelligible language required by the different audiences.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The process that will guide this training programme will be similar to that of the first four editions.<strong>Young journalists from all over Spain will be able to apply <\/strong>by filling in the corresponding application form and, initially, <strong>25<\/strong> registered candidates will be <strong>selected on<\/strong> the basis of their curriculum vitae, specifically their academic experience and professional career, under the criteria of gender equality, territorial representation, transparency and balanced presence within <strong>the <\/strong>diversity of <strong>the <\/strong>media.<strong>academic experience<\/strong> and <strong>professional career<\/strong>, under the criteria of <strong>gender equality, territorial representation, transparency<\/strong> and balanced presence within the <strong>diversity of the media<\/strong>. RTVE Instituto and EFE will participate in this selection process with the support of the European Parliament Office in Spain.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The course will consist of <strong>two modules<\/strong>. The first will be held on <strong>20, 21 and 22 May<\/strong> at the <strong>premises of RTVE Instituto<\/strong> and<strong> Agencia EFE<\/strong>. The costs of the entire stay in Madrid (travel and hotel) of those selected will be covered by the European Parliament. Subsequently, the second module will take place in <strong>Brussels<\/strong>, which will only be open to students who have stood out for their merits and who will be offered the opportunity to share this training experience with other European colleagues.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Spain is one of the <strong>eight pilot countries <\/strong>in which this training programme was launched and which has been progressively extended to the rest of the <strong>European Union<\/strong> countries.
