With the support of the And\u00fajar City Council, more than 100 ESO students participated in the event, coming from IES J\u00e1ndula, IES Nuestra Se\u00f1ora de la Cabeza and IES Sierra Morena de And\u00fajar, as well as from IES Luis Carrillo de Sotomayor de Baena (C\u00f3rdoba).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The event began with an inspiring speech by <strong>Emilio Jos\u00e9 Rodr\u00edguez Rodr\u00edguez<\/strong>, Councilor for Youth, Environment and Sustainability of the Town Council of And\u00fajar, who spoke about the importance of the European Union for his town.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Next, <strong>Lourdes Mart\u00ednez G\u00f3mez<\/strong>, provincial deputy for European Funds and Geolit in the Diputaci\u00f3n de Ja\u00e9n, highlighted the opportunities that European integration brings to the province.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The central moment of the event adopted a <strong>dynamic format<\/strong> in which five experts shared, in consecutive sessions, different aspects of the European Union with the participants.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Luc\u00eda Herrada Arenas<\/strong>, a 1st year university student of Translation and Hispanic Philology, shared her Erasmus+ experiences (Finland, France, Italy and Germany), explaining how mobility can change lives. Her participation was especially valuable, because Luc\u00eda is 18 years old, just a couple of years older than the participating students, who saw embodied in her the opportunities that the EU makes available to them.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Adrian Lasa Mediavilla<\/strong>, Information and Communication Assistant at the European Commission Representation in Spain, presented the DiscoverEU and European Solidarity Corps programs that offer unique opportunities to travel, learn and contribute to projects throughout the EU.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Lola Cort\u00e9s Biosca<\/strong>, technical teaching advisor at the SEPIE (Spanish Service for the Internationalization of Education) Management Support Unit, explained how young people can access study programs in different countries.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Eva Touri\u00f1o<\/strong>, EURES advisor in Ja\u00e9n, provided key information on <strong>job mobility opportunities<\/strong> in Europe, encouraging attendees to explore the European job market once they finish high school.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Feliciano Tisera Pardi\u00f1as<\/strong>, Information and Communication Officer at the European Commission Representation in Spain, addressed the topic of European values, stressing the importance of understanding and defending them.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The success of this meeting would not have been possible without the support of the <strong>Town Council of And\u00fajar<\/strong>, which underlined its strong commitment to the dissemination of the European project in the local community.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>More information: <a href=\"https:\/\/spain.representation.ec.europa.eu\/noticias-eventos\/noticias-0\/la-gira-las-plazas-de-europa-hace-escala-en-andujar-una-ventana-las-oportunidades-de-la-ue-2025-03-14_es\">European Comission<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One hundred high school students from four Andalusian schools discover first-hand the mobility and training opportunities that the EU offers them.
