DESTINY Project \u2013 Design and evaluation of the sustainability of innovative biomass production systems and value chains in the bioeconomy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Job Functions<\/strong><\/p>\n

The joint EBU doctoral network DESTINY is a Marie Sk\u0142odowska-Curie Action of Horizon Europe and offers a total of 15 fully-funded PhD positions in an inter- and transdisciplinary research and education programme.<\/p>\n

Six leading universities in bioeconomy research and training have been collaborating since 2019 to train a new generation of truly European experts, fostering rigorous, relevant and interdisciplinary research that develops solutions to the challenges of the 21st century.<\/p>\n

DESTINY will address the transition from a fossil fuel-based economy to a bio-based economy by developing new methods and tools to optimize biomass production systems, develop new bio-based value chains and assess their sustainability in a comprehensive manner.<\/p>\n

We cover diverse disciplines and sectors, from agronomy and engineering to economics, political and social sciences, to create a new type of scientist: the bioeconomist.<\/p>\n

To achieve this, we offer a\u00a0\u00a0multidisciplinary curriculum<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0that equips the 15 PhD students with the knowledge and skills to become leading experts in the transition to a sustainable bioeconomy in Europe. The research programme is at the crossroads between and is addressed to the agricultural and forestry sectors, the bioeconomy industry, academia, consultancies and governments.<\/p>\n

PhD research topic:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>International business models of bio-based textile companies<\/strong><\/p>\n

The PhD candidate will conduct research at the Business School of the University of Eastern Finland (Kuopio, Finland) and in Wageningen (The Netherlands) in the following research project.<\/p>\n

Promote international business research on the adaptation and innovation of business models of companies producing bio-based materials for textile production in order to improve their international competitiveness and strengthen their position in the sector’s value network<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0, including:<\/p>\n
