TectoVision has the overarching aim to understand better the transient tectonic motions recorded by GNSS \u2013 your part in this project involves advancing the state of the art in GNSS processing across daily and sub-daily timescales so that tectonic transients can be better distinguished from other signals in coordinate time series.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong style=\"text-align: justify;\">Duties of the position<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"ecl\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<ul>\n<li>GNSS analysis with a focus on precise station coordinates<\/li>\n<li>Further development of GNSS analysis, e.g. about non-tide-dependent loads, specific environmental influences of the antenna near field, or kinematic evaluations<\/li>\n<li>Analysis of GNSS coordinate time series, e.g. about extended modeling and the determination of relevant parameters<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to the interdisciplinary research approach in ERC TectoVision with your expertise in GNSS and geodesy<\/li>\n<li>We offer you the opportunity to participate in fieldwork for the installation and maintenance of a dense GNSS station network in Greece as part of the ERC TectoVision project.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Required selection criteria<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"ecl-u-mb-m\">\n<div class=\"ecl\">\n<ul>\n<li>Scientific university education and PhD in the field of geodesy, mathematics, physics or comparable<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Unix\/Linux-based operating system environments and script languages (Perl, Python)<\/li>\n<li>Experience in the analysis of GNSS data sets with scientific software packages<\/li>\n<li>Very good command of written and spoken English<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to collaborate in an interdisciplinary and international research environment<\/li>\n<li>High motivation and personal responsibility<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ecl-u-mb-m\">\n<div class=\"ecl\"><b>Benefits\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Ambitious and varied tasks in a dynamic and international research environment<\/li>\n<li>State-of-the-art equipment<\/li>\n<li>Public service benefits<\/li>\n<li>Extensive training opportunities<\/li>\n<li>Professional career advice offered by our in-house Career-Centre<\/li>\n<li>Flexible working hours and conditions<\/li>\n<li>Support with finding a good work-life balance offered by benefit@work<\/li>\n<li>Institute day-care centre on site<\/li>\n<li>Working at the Albert Einstein science park on the Telegrafenberg in Potsdam<\/li>\n<li>Work place within walking distance of Potsdam main train station, or just a short ride on the shuttle bus<\/li>\n<li><strong>Fixed-term:<\/strong> 2 years<\/li>\n<li><strong>Salary:<\/strong> The position is classed as salary group 13 according to \u201cTV\u00f6D Bund (Tarifgebiet Ost)\u201d.
