As part of Horizon Europe &#8211; the EU&#8217;s research and innovation programme &#8211; \u20ac96.2 million will co-fund twelve doctoral training programmes and fifteen post-doctoral fellowship programmes, employing around 800 excellent researchers.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/marie-sklodowska-curie-actions.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-42000\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/marie-sklodowska-curie-actions.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"638\" height=\"445\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/marie-sklodowska-curie-actions.jpg 638w, https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/marie-sklodowska-curie-actions-300x209.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 638px) 100vw, 638px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The selected projects are coordinated by organisations in 13 countries, with Spain and France leading the list with 6 projects each. The selected projects cover a range of scientific disciplines, from improving and adapting the EU agri-food technology sector to the effects of climate change or promoting the ethical use of artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Iliana Ivanova, Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, said: &#8220;Europe must nurture the best talent to maintain its competitive edge in research and innovation. Through the COFUND mechanism of the Marie Sk\u0142odowska-Curie Actions, researchers receive high-quality training, supervision and career development opportunities. COFUND helps organisations to set up or improve their own training and fellowship programmes with the aim of increasing their attractiveness and their research and innovation capacities, which in turn will help foster innovation exchange and attract global talent. The Commission co-funds a significant part of the costs of these programmes, which institutions must complement with their own sources of funding.
