The sector contributed \u20ac86.5 billion in <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/eurostat\/statistics-explained\/index.php?title=Glossary:Value_added\">value added<\/a>, representing 0.9% of the value added created by the EU business economy.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<table style=\"width: 99.9988%; border-collapse: collapse; border-style: double; border-color: #001f7d;\" cellpadding=\"0,5\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 100%;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/eurostat-produccion-de-frutas-y-hortalizas-de-la-ue-en-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/pexels-karolina-grabowska-4033167-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"201\" height=\"134\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"entry-title\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/en\/eurostat-eu-fruit-and-vegetable-production-in-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Eurostat: EU fruit and vegetable production in 2022<\/a><\/h4>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"ecl-u-type-paragraph\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The highest contribution of this sector to the value added of the business economy was recorded in Malta (16.9%), followed by Slovakia (3.7%) and Hungary (2.3%). The lowest contributions were recorded in Luxembourg (0.2%), Poland (0.4%) and Ireland (0.5%).<br \/>\nIn terms of employment, Malta recorded the highest share (5.3%), ahead of Denmark (2.6%) and Spain (2.3%).
