A growing provider of scientific instruments for the analysis of molecular interactions and are seeking highly motivated individuals to join their team as a PhD student for their innovative heliX<\/strong>\u00ae biosensors.<\/p>\n

The open position is provided by ECLectic, a Doctoral Network on ElectroChemiLuminescence for early sepsis diagnosis “, funded within the framework of the Marie Sk\u0142odowska-Curie Actions (MSCA), follows an interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral approach by bringing together highly inter- and multidisciplinary and cross-sectoral analytical scientists, (nano)(bio) materials specialists, biosensor experts and microfluidic engineers as well as clinicians to enable ultimate translation to the clinic.<\/p>\n

This Doctoral Network project aims to tackle some of these urgent issues, by creating revolutionary new technology to directly detect the causative organism and infection biomarkers thus training and forming the next generation of scientists within world leading labs in the field of biosensors, clinical diagnostics and material science. ECLectic project, coordinated by University of Bologna in Italy, is based on the collaboration between academic and non-academic partners to address one of the most challenging issues: the development of integrated point of care biosensors for the early diagnosis of bacterial infections.<\/p>\n

The PhD students will work on individual research projects in order to create a novel, sample-to-answer device capable of detecting bacterial infection in less than 2 hours. This development will ultimately result in novel fast and reliable point-of-care devices with applications ranging from bacterial infection analysis to monitoring of disease recurrence and progression after treatment, thus improving patient outcomes.<\/p>\n

A PhD candidate will be recruited at Dynamic Biosensors in Munich and will work on \u201cAdvanced Microfluidic Biosensing: Multianalyte Detection and Multiplexed Analysis on a Lab-on-a-Chip Platform\u201d, the PhD will be awarded from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universit\u00e4t (LMU). The focus here is on developing and scale up at industrial level novel ECL-based strategies to detect and quantify DNA and pathogens, derived from bacterial lysates, relevant to the medical industries.<\/p>\n

You will be part of an interdisciplinary Application Specialist Team. A broad basis for understanding electrochemical biosensors is required. Knowledge in molecular interaction analysis methods is a plus.<\/p>\n
