UM is placed No. 193 in the THE World University Rankings and placed No. 254 in the QS World University Rankings. With a scenic campus of approximately 1 km<sup>2<\/sup>\u00a0on Hengqin island, UM has achieved significant progress in the past decade as evidenced by its rising international repute, state-of-the-art teaching and research facilities, and the establishment of three State Key Laboratories in microelectronics, Chinese medical sciences, and internet of things for smart city. To support economic diversification of MSAR and deepen collaboration between MSAR and Guangdong Province in Hengqin island, UM will continue to invest in cutting-edge research and develop interdisciplinary programmes in key strategic areas including precision oncology, advanced materials, regional oceanography, artificial intelligence and robotics, data science, cognitive and brain science and economics and finance. Leveraging its \u20184-in-1\u2019 model of education and residential college system, UM provides all-round undergraduate education, nurturing talent to support social and economic development in MSAR and the GBA as a whole. It may be noted that English is the working language and the primary medium of instruction at UM.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Faculty of Law (FLL) invites applications for the position of Full\/Associate\/Assistant Professor in Law in the areas of Chinese Law &amp; Global Legal Studies. Special knowledge in Chinese civil law, Chinese company law, Chinese financial law, Chinese Maritime law, as well as Chinese labour and social security law in combination with a comparative or global understanding will be considered an advantage.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Faculty of Law of University of Macau is the oldest law school in Macao and plays a very important role in preparing jurists who are familiar with Macao S.A.R. legal system, as well as, educating jurists who are competent in legal research and practices in Macau law, international law and comparative law. The Faculty of Law presently offers undergraduate degrees and postgraduate degrees to both local and international students. Preference will be given to applicants with an educational background from international renowned universities, extensive teaching experience in bilingual capacity (Chinese &amp; English), and the ability to provide strong evidence of outstanding research achievements, supported by publications in internationally recognized refereed journals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in 2024.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><u>Remuneration<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP1,210,300 (approx. USD149,420) for the position of Full Professor, MOP1,019,200 (approx. USD125,830) for the position of Associate Professor and MOP828,100 (approximately USD102,230) for the position of Assistant Professor will be commensurate with the successful applicants\u2019 academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% \u2013 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
