She also announced that<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Team Europe has committed over\u00a0 \u20ac45 billion to support the reinforced partnership with Latin America and the Caribbean until 2027.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/celac-thumbnail-002.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-138475 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/celac-thumbnail-002.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"826\" height=\"466\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/celac-thumbnail-002.jpg 826w, https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/celac-thumbnail-002-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/celac-thumbnail-002-768x433.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 826px) 100vw, 826px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The GGIA includes a list of more than 130 projects\u00a0to make\u00a0the fair green and digital transition a reality\u00a0on both sides of the Atlantic.\u00a0The list has been composed in close cooperation with the Spanish Presidency and is the basis\u00a0for further dialogues with the Latin American and Caribbean partners.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Some examples of projects<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>The EU will work with LAC partners on\u00a0<strong>Critical Raw Materials<\/strong>\u00a0(such as lithium and others)\u00a0in the region (Argentina, Chile), as well as with the Critical Raw Materials Club to strengthen sustainable supply chains.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Brazil<\/strong>: the EU will collaborate with the Brazilian government and EU private sector to expand telecoms networks in the Amazon region.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Costa Rica<\/strong>:\u00a0The EU and will help with the electrification of public transport.\u00a0Conversion of urban bus fleet to electric: 40 public e-vehicles contributing to a reduction of 5000 CO2\u00a0ktons\u00a0per year.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Colombia<\/strong>: Construction of a metro line.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Jamaica<\/strong>:\u00a0Deployment of 5G\u00a0to reach island-wide broadband access.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Paraguay<\/strong>:\u00a0Upgrade of the electricity networkwith support to\u00a0the\u00a0Administraci\u00f3n\u00a0Nacional de\u00a0Electricidad.<\/li>\n<li><strong>EU-LAC Digital Alliance<\/strong>: EU-LAC digital cooperation activities are underway such as the extension of the BELLA cable and the creation of two regional Copernicus centres for disaster risk reduction, climate change,\u00a0land\u00a0and marine monitoring.<\/li>\n<li>In<strong>\u00a0Chile,\u00a0<\/strong>the EU has developed a\u00a0<strong>Team Europe Initiative (TEI) on Green Hydrogen (GH2),<\/strong>\u00a0to promote investment opportunities.<\/li>\n<li>The GGIA will support\u00a0LAC countries&#8217; policies towards a climate-neutral economy and a resilient society that lives in harmony with nature.\u00a0The EU and its Member States have pooled their resources to jointly establish the\u00a0<strong>Team Europe Initiative \u2018Brazil Tropical Forests&#8217;<\/strong>.\u00a0The EU will also contribute to the\u00a0<strong>Amazon Fund.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>LAC-Health Resilience initiative<\/strong>, supporting the development of local medicines and vaccine manufacturing and health systems resilience, including regulatory frameworks.<\/li>\n<li><strong>LAC-Global Green Bonds Initiative<\/strong>, fostering the development of the green bond market in LAC, thus\u00a0mobilisingcapital for financing a sustainable transition.<\/li>\n<li>In<strong>\u00a0Panama,\u00a0<\/strong>the EU supports\u00a0a joint project on universal\u00a0<strong>access to energy.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>\u2018<strong>Inclusive Societies&#8217; programme<\/strong>\u00a0to tackle inequalities, reduce poverty and social exclusion, and enhance social cohesion within Latin American and Caribbean countries.
