Following payment of a fee, originally contracted doses will be converted into optional orders;<\/li>\n<li>an\u00a0<strong>extension in the length of time<\/strong>\u00a0in which Member States will be able to take delivery of the vaccines \u2013 up to 4 years from now;<\/li>\n<li>the possibility to continue to have\u00a0<strong>access to additional doses<\/strong>\u00a0up to the original contracted volume until the end of the contract to meet needs, should cases rise, and the epidemiological situation deteriorate;<\/li>\n<li>continued access to vaccines\u00a0<strong>adapted\u00a0<\/strong>to new variants as soon as authorised by the regulators.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The amendment was reached following negotiations between the vaccine developers, Member States and the Commission to better align to vaccine strategies and the evolving public health needs in the Member States.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<table style=\"width: 99.9988%; border-collapse: collapse; border-style: double; border-color: #001f7d;\" cellpadding=\"0,5\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 100%;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/unos-investigadores-han-identificado-anticuerpos-que-podrian-vencer-a-todos-los-coronavirus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/DALL%C2%B7E-2023-02-13-12.28.56-hyperrealist-and-modern-style-of-several-virus-being-investigated-by-scientists-.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"entry-title\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/en\/researchers-have-identified-antibodies-that-could-defeat-all-coronaviruses\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Researchers have identified antibodies that could defeat all coronaviruses<\/a><\/h4>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Background<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As from 2020, and in line with our\u00a0<strong>EU Vaccines Strategy<\/strong>, the European Union invested heavily in the global production of COVID-19 vaccines.
