Its mandate is to encourage the highest quality research in Europe through competitive funding and to support investigator-initiated frontier research across all fields of research, on the basis of scientific excellence.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/ERC-Advanced-Grants.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-134131 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/ERC-Advanced-Grants.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"625\" height=\"340\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/ERC-Advanced-Grants.png 625w, https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/ERC-Advanced-Grants-300x163.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 625px) 100vw, 625px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>ERC Advanced Grants <\/strong>allow exceptional established research leaders of any nationality and any age to pursue ground-breaking, high-risk projects that open new directions in their respective research fields or other domains.<br \/>\nThe ERC Advanced Grant funding targets researchers who have already established themselves as independent research leaders in their own right.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In brief:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><strong>Research proposal<\/strong>: pioneering frontier research in any field of science, including social sciences.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Researchers<\/strong>: candidates can be of any nationality, any age, must be scientifically independent and have a recent research track-record and profile which identifies them as leaders in their respective field(s) of research<\/li>\n<li><strong>Host organisation<\/strong>:\u00a0Legally the Host Institution must be based in one of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/europa.eu\/about-eu\/countries\/index_en.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>EU Member States<\/strong><\/a>, or one of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/info\/funding-tenders\/opportunities\/docs\/2021-2027\/common\/guidance\/list-3rd-country-participation_horizon-euratom_en.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Associated Countries<\/strong><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Notice for UK applicants:\u00a0<\/strong>The UK is expected to soon become an associated country to the EU\u2019s R&amp;I Framework Programme Horizon Europe.
