Department of English<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Department of English (http:\/\/www.LN.edu.hk\/eng\/<\/a>) of Lingnan University now invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to contribute to research and teaching in Linguistics (Contemporary Language Studies). Candidates who can contribute to both the Linguistics and Literature strands of the programme, for example by specializing in literary linguistics, stylistics, corpus linguistics and\/or digital humanities, will be given priority.<\/p>\n

General Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n

Applicants should have:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. A PhD degree in linguistics, applied linguistics, or a related field;<\/li>\n
  2. A good publication record in peer-reviewed journals with a good international standing;<\/li>\n
  3. A track record of developing and teaching courses on literary linguistics, stylistics, corpus linguistics, and\/or digital humanities;<\/li>\n
  4. \u00a0Experience of academic administration and curriculum development.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Applicants are required to provide information about their research records and evidence of high-quality teaching in relevant subjects.<\/p>\n

    The appointee is expected to deliver and develop courses at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supervise final year projects, produce quality research outputs, and participate in competitive grant exercises. He or she is also expected to engage in knowledge transfer activities, and assist the Department with administration.<\/p>\n

    Appointment<\/strong><\/p>\n

    The conditions of appointment will be competitive. Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund, gratuity and incoming passage and baggage allowance for the eligible appointee.<\/p>\n

    Appointment will normally be made on an initial contract of three years, which, subject to review and mutual agreement, may normally lead to longer-term appointment with possibility of consideration for substantiation.<\/p>\n
