This requires close cooperation with the Liaison Bureaux at Europol and via them with the Operational Teams in the Member States. Europol delivers a number of products and services to national law enforcement agencies to support them in their fight against international serious and organised crime, as well as terrorism. The Operations Directorate hosts five distinct Departments: Operational and Analysis Centre, European Serious Organised Crime Centre, European Cyber Crime Centre, European Counter Terrorism Centre and the European Financial and Economic Crime Centre.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Purpose of the post<\/strong><\/h3>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The main purpose of the post is to support and guide the work of the cryptocurrency specialists within Europol\u2019s Analysis Project or the Cyber Intel Team. The appointed candidate will coordinate the cryptocurrency activity at EC3 level (both operational and strategic), provide expertise and guidance for the most complex cases\/ international projects and review the work done by other cryptocurrency specialists from Europol or the EU Member States.<\/div>\n<div>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Functions and Duties<\/h3>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The incumbent carries out the following main functions and duties:<\/div>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Coordinate horizontally, monitor and support the EC3 activity in the field of cryptocurrency;<\/li>\n<li>Support the development and the implementation of the Europol strategy in the field of cryptocurrency;<\/li>\n<li>Initiate, stimulate and follow-up on the exchange of information, including personal data between Europol and the operational partners, in the field of cryptocurrency;<\/li>\n<li>Assist law enforcement agencies during joint investigations and operations with a cryptocurrency component;<\/li>\n<li>Keep up-to-date with relevant developments in cryptocurrency and technology that may impact law\u00a0nforcement environment;<\/li>\n<li>Develop, maintain and update expertise in the area of responsibility, through research, study and liaison with relevant agencies and experts;<\/li>\n<li>Based on information from the Member States, prepare reports on possible opportunities for Europol and the Member States to work together on specific intelligence and information;<\/li>\n<li>Maintain close contact with the members of the Analysis Projects\u00a0 and \/or other useful partner agencies\/organisations, as well as undertake missions to raise awareness and gather data;<\/li>\n<li>Establish close contacts with the Member States and Third Parties\u2019 Liaison Officers to encourage and support operational activities in the field of responsibility of the team;<\/li>\n<li>Participate in meetings, working groups and conferences and present analytical and technical results as and when required;<\/li>\n<li>Provide on-the-spot operational support to specific operational enquiries, relevant projects and events if and when required;<\/li>\n<li>Participate in stand-by duty and\/or shifts work as and when required;<\/li>\n<li>Carry out any other duties in the area of competence as assigned by the line-management.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Requirements<\/h3>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Candidates must<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Be a member of a competent authority in the meaning of the Article 2a) of the Europol Regulation\u00a0 and enjoy full rights as a citizen of a Member State;<\/li>\n<li>Produce appropriate character references as to his or her suitability for the performance of the duties;<\/li>\n<li>Have fulfilled any obligations imposed by the applicable laws on military service;<\/li>\n<li>Be physically fit to perform the duties pertaining to the position (prior to appointment the successful candidate will be medically examined by one of the institution\u2019s medical officers in order that the institution may be satisfied that the candidate fulfils the requirements of Article 12(2)(d) CEOS);<\/li>\n<li>Produce evidence of a thorough knowledge of one of the languages of the Union and a satisfactory knowledge of another language of the Union to the extent necessary for the performance of the duties.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Candidates must have<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>A level of education which corresponds to completed university studies attested by a diploma when the normal period of university education is four years or more;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>OR\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>A level of education which corresponds to completed university studies attested by a diploma and appropriate professional experience of at least one year when the normal period of university education is three years;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Benefits<\/h3>\n<div>The gross basic monthly salary is EUR\u00a0<strong>6 568.39<\/strong> or EUR\u00a0<strong>6 844.41<\/strong>.<\/div>\n<div>The step in grade is determined on the basis of professional experience gained after the education required for the post and in line with applicable implementing rules.<\/div>\n<div class=\"field
