comparable information at European level on drugs and drug addiction and their consequences. It aims to provide evidence to inform policymaking and guide initiatives to tackle drugs.<\/p>\n<h2>What it does<\/h2>\n<p>The EMCDDA:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>monitors the drugs problem<\/strong>\u00a0in Europe (including emerging trends)<\/li>\n<li><strong>monitors solutions<\/strong>\u00a0applied to drug-related problems<\/li>\n<li><strong>provides information<\/strong>\u00a0on best practice in EU countries and encourages them to share it<\/li>\n<li><strong>assesses the risks<\/strong>\u00a0of new psychoactive substances<\/li>\n<li>runs an\u00a0<strong>early warning system<\/strong>\u00a0on new psychoactive substances<\/li>\n<li>develops\u00a0<strong>tools and instruments<\/strong>\u00a0to help EU member states monitor and evaluate their national policies and the European Commission to monitor and evaluate EU policies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Who benefits<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>policymakers, including national authorities and EU institutions\u2019 representatives<\/li>\n<li>scientists and researchers<\/li>\n<li>international organisations<\/li>\n<li>practitioners<\/li>\n<li>the public.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To remain policy-relevant, the EMCDDA is moving from an information-centred model to a service-oriented one that provides analysis tailored to the needs of the bodies it advises.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Access to the official webpage and the social networks &nbsp; Role:\u00a0To provide factual, objective, reliable and comparable information on drugs and drug addiction.
