On 15 and 16 July, Parliament will co-host the second Global State of Human Rights Conference, with a particular focus on children\u2019s rights all over the world.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The two-day high-level event will take place at the Monastery of San Nicol\u00f2 in Venice-Lido (Italy) and gather, among several participants, key MEPs and European Commissioner, Nobel Peace Prize laureates and representatives of international organisations.<\/p>\n

Following on from\u00a0last year\u2019s first-ever conference<\/a>, this year\u2019s edition will see participants come together across three panels to discuss the latest developments related to children\u2019s rights all over the world. The conference is jointly organised by the\u00a0European Parliament<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0Global Campus of Human Rights<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year\u2019s participants include the President of the European Parliament,\u00a0Roberta Metsola\u00a0<\/strong>(video message), as well as the President of the Global Campus of Human Rights,\u00a0Veronica Gomez<\/strong>, the Executive Director of the Right Livelihood Foundation\u00a0Ole von\u00a0<\/strong>Uexk\u00fcll<\/strong>, European Commissioner for International Partnerships\u00a0Jutta Urpilainen<\/strong>\u00a0(video message), the Chairs of the European Parliament\u2019s Foreign Affairs Committee,\u00a0David McAllister<\/a>, and Subcommittee on Human Rights,\u00a0Maria Arena<\/a>, Sakharov Prize and Nobel Peace Prize laureate\u00a0Denis Mukwege<\/strong>, and several Members of the European Parliament.<\/p>\n

The themes of the three main panels are \u201cChildren behind bars\u201d, \u201cChildren affected by armed conflict and violence\u201d and \u201cYouth as drivers of change\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
