Pro-Kremlin disinformation outlets continue to call immense human suffering liberation and the ruins temporarily fallen into Russian hands tokens of glorious victory. Similarly, without any hesitation, Kremlin spin-doctors turn a terror strike against a shopping mall with Soviet-era cruise missiles loaded with one-ton warheads\u00a0a surgical precision attack against a justified military target<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Russian mouthpieces in Egypt\u00a0joined the chorus<\/a>\u00a0by attempting to spread disinformation about the arms and ammunition depots having been destroyed in the strike.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the international community calls a spade a spade \u2013 Russian air forces attacked a civilian target in Kremenchuk causing vast devastation and the loss of at least 18 lives, potentially\u00a0a war crime<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Just a few days after the Kremenchuk strike, and a day after a\u00a0humiliating withdrawal<\/a>\u00a0from the strategic Snake Island,\u00a0painted as a gesture of \u201cgood-will\u201d in Kremlin propaganda<\/a>, the Russian air force resorted yet again to their terror bombing tactics.<\/p>\n

The after midnight cruise missile strike to a coastal community of Serhiivka residing in the Odessa region\u00a0killed at least 19 people in their beds leaving dozens more wounded<\/a>. Not surprisingly, the Kremlinsplaining machinery was ready to deny the horrific aftermath of the Serhiivka strike and suggest, against the very graphic evidence, that\u00a0Russian armed forces only engage military targets<\/a>.<\/p>\n

There is no reason to expect this lineage of terror to cease anytime soon, as it seems that the Russian Ministry of Defence is\u00a0releasing disinformation<\/a>\u00a0about Ukrainian \u201cfabrications\u201d to prepare the audiences for more Russian strikes against civilians to come, while attempting to pre-emptively deflect the blame to the Ukrainians. Conveniently, the release took place in the evening following the Russian attack against civilians in Serhiivka.<\/p>\n

The fall of the Donbas twin cities of Sievierodonetsk and Lysychansk into Russian hands as bombed-out ruins did not satisfy the bloodthirst in Kremlin. Negligible gains made with heavy casualties were celebrated as a\u00a0major victory both in the Kremlin\u2019s corridors<\/a>\u00a0and, in a clear violation of the spirit of the space station,\u00a0also in space<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The celebratory mood was cut short by Putin\u2019s\u00a0order to continue the attack as planned<\/a>\u00a0and Patrushev\u2019s regurgitation of\u00a0war\u2019s maximalist aims<\/a>. This will undoubtedly entail more levelled cities, indiscriminate strikes against civilian targets, and incessant Kremlin propaganda trying to explain away the atrocities awaiting. If Russia is, as according to Naryshkin,\u00a0fighting for its \u2018historical future\u2019<\/a>, the future does not seem to hold much for them apart from death and devastation.<\/p>\n
