The Unit assists these governing bodies and their members in fulfilling their corporate role, thereby contributing to the achievement of the EIF&#8217;s objectives.<\/p>\n<p>The GBU further supports the Head of Corporate and Institutional Affairs (CIA) and the Secretary General in policy, strategic, procedural and governance affairs, coming within their remit, and manages the process for the admission of new shareholders. The selected candidate will be involved in tasks across the scope of the GBU&#8217;s responsibilities.<\/p>\n<p><b>Operating Network<\/b><\/p>\n<p>You will work in a small team of officers and assistant(s) and will report to the Head of GBU. The team actively liaises with EIF senior management, the Chief Executive\/Deputy Chief Executive Office and EIF Services, as well as other teams within the General Secretariat, in particular Corporate Relations, Audit &amp; Coordination and General Legal Affairs. You will also collaborate closely with relevant EIB counterparts, in particular within the Governing Bodies Department of the General Secretariat and the office of the Chairman of the Board.<\/p>\n<p>More broadly, you will be in regular contact with members of and advisors to the Board of Directors, the Audit Board, as well as key shareholding counterparts within the European Commission and the EIF&#8217;s Financial Institutions shareholders and, to a lesser extent, the external auditor.<\/p>\n<p><b>Responsibilities<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Act as key contributor to, and point of consultation for, Board-related processes and meetings, including the minuting of certain decisions and the timely preparation and distribution of documents;<\/li>\n<li>Act as key contributor to, and point of consultation for meetings of the Audit Board with the EIB\u2019s Audit Committee, including the minuting of decisions and the timely preparation and distribution of documents;<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate, and act as a point of consultation, to achieve the efficient administration and reporting of operational decisions under the specific authority delegated by the Board to the Chief Executive;<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to GM-related decision-making processes, information-sharing and shareholder meetings, including the Annual General Meeting;<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to the development, update and implementation of EIF institutional and internal policy documents, guidelines, procedures and reports within the remit of the GBU;<\/li>\n<li>Support, as required, Audit Board-related decision-making processes and meetings;<\/li>\n<li>Support the administration and development of the EIF&#8217;s Board and Audit Board Portals;<\/li>\n<li>Support the Secretary General and Head of CIA on matters relating to the EIF\u2019s governing bodies, including briefings and background research;<\/li>\n<li>Provide back-up to the other team members, including the Head of Unit, as and when required;<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate on data processing and data protection requirements within the team&#8217;s remit;<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders as regards corporate information, notably on the EIF&#8217;s internet and intranet sites, and in other internal or external governance-related communications;<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with the Corporate Relations team on matters relating to existing and potential EIF shareholders, including meetings of and communication with the Financial Institutions Shareholder Group.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Qualifications<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>University degree, preferably in a field related to corporate governance, law, business administration, political science and civics, or similar;<\/li>\n<li>At least three (3) years relevant professional experience for the Officer role and five (5) years relevant professional experience for the Senior Officer role in an international environment and at a comparable level of responsibility;<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of, or experience in, the following areas would be an advantage:\n<ul>\n<li>EIF&#8217;s objectives, lines of business activity and organisation;<\/li>\n<li>EIF&#8217;s and EIB&#8217;s governance frameworks and the institutional and political environment in which they operate;<\/li>\n<li>EIF&#8217;s statutory texts and bodies;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English.
