The European Parliament President Roberta Metsola has today visited Kyiv to express European Union\u00b4s support and hope to the Ukrainian people and condemn the unjustified Russian attack.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

She travelled on the invitation of the Chairman of the Ukranian Parliament Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am here to tell you that we are with you, in good times and in difficult times. We will never ever leave your side\u201d, Metsola said addresing the Rada.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo me, to Europe, to the world, Ukrainian people are heros; you are fighting for what we all believe in: freedom, democracy, the rule of law. Without these values, there is nothing else\u201d, she pointed out.\"\"<\/a>
\nRoberta Metsola made three promises to the Members of the Ukrainian Rada.<\/p>\n

First, the European Parliament President said Europe will not let this aggression unchallenged: \u201cthose responsible will be hold accountable for what they have committed here. We need more and harder sanctions\u201d.<\/p>\n

She also confirmed the support of the European Parliament to the Ukrainian aspiration to become a candidate for EU accession: \u201cUkraine is Europe; more than ever before, Ukraine looks to the EU as its destination\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, Metsola promised that \u201cwe will take care of the Ukrainian families that have been forced to flee until the day they can safely return to their homes\u201d. She also said, \u201cwe will create the Ukraine Solidarity Trust Fund and organise an International Donors Conference to help rebuild Ukraine\u201d.<\/p>\n

During her stay in Kyiv, Metsola met the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy; the Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal; the Chairman of the Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk; and representatives of the political groups of the Rada, among others.<\/p>\n
